Coronavirus: Do you know your data?

Episode 5: Contact tracing

This week, we’ll be examining a particularly pertinent topic: contact tracing. Around the world, governments are hiring teams of contact tracers in an aim to stop the spread of COVID-19, but how will this data help us combat the virus? Find out in this week’s video.

Welcome back to Know Your Data – a series that aims to help everyone gain a greater understanding of the charts, tables, and language that we're all seeing every day in relation to COVID-19 data.

In this week’s episode, Alan Schwarz and I will be joined by a special guest – Chantilly Jaggernauth, founder of Millennials and Data, Vice President of Data Visualization for Lovelytics, and of course, a member of the Data Literacy Project Advisory Board.

We’ll be discussing something we’re all increasingly hearing more about: contact tracing. What is it? Why is it important? And how does the data generated help to inform crucial decisions about our future interactions?

As always, if you want to learn more, or would like us to discuss something you’ve seen in the media or online, do let us know via Twitter, Instagram or YouTube, and include #BeDataBrilliant in your social post. Alternatively, you can find us at hello@thedataliteracyproject.org

In the meantime, stay safe, and we’ll see you on the next episode!
